Hunting Trophy Information
Australia
provides a diversity of animal species and some very sought after
trophies.
Javan and Molluccan Rusa
Rusa are now found in many areas throughout Australia. Our hunting
properties extend to 100 square miles and produce top class trophies.
This hunting area (west of Brisbane) has been primarily set aside for
bow hunting, although, some rifle hunting is permitted. This is one of
the best areas for Javan Rusa hunts outside of New Caledonia (best this
year over 34''). These can be hunted with rifle or bow. A must hunting area for the serious bow hunter. We also
have a station in South Australia with abundant populations, and very
good trophy quality.

Boar, Goats, Rams
As with New Zealand these trophies are reasonably easy to obtain.
West of Brisbane we have goat hunting opportunities which are some of
the largest found in either country, with horns in excess of 40”. Great
add on to your hunt. These can be hunted with either rifle or bow.

Water Buffalo
Buffalo hunts are conducted in two separate areas of Australia.
One is on a large station south and west of Darwin. Accommodation is
first class and includes private rooms and access to the swimming pool.
Several modes of transport are available for access to the hunting area,
including. 4X4, helicopter and hovercraft. Although this area can be
hunted with either rifle or bow, bow hunting is the specialty. Pigs and
scrub bulls can also be hunted here. Great barramundi fishing is
also available. A bonus to this hunt is being able to view the huge salt
water crocs that live in the area.
The other option is in the Northern Territory of Australia where these
timid animals also call home. The country is mostly flat with some
rolling hill country. Access to the hunting area is by fixed wing
charter from Darwin and accommodation is hut or tent camp. You'll see
lots of trophy bulls and can expect to hunt the trophy of your choice.
The wildlife is of particular interest, especially the crocodile. These
reptiles can obtain massive proportions, and often, spare moments are
spent watching and photographing these amazing creatures.

Banteng
Banteng are the Cape Buffalo of the South Pacific. Although shy animals,
these big bulls can be quite menacing if wounded or cornered. They will
charge you ‘at the drop of a hat’. Each year up to 50 tags are allocated
worldwide, and we are fortunate enough to work with the best operator in
Australia for these trophies. A must hunt and a great adventure for
those hunting in Australia.
Banteng hunts take place on the Cobourg Peninsular, in The Northern
Territory of Australia. This is one of the most amazing places you will
ever visit. In 2006 one of our hunters (Dr. Ancil Lindley III) took the
new #2 world record.

Chital Stag
Chital or
Axis Deer are one of the most beautiful of the deer species. Timid
and shy, they are very aware of their environment and any activity
around them. The slightest movement or sound will often see them running
for the cover of the bush or scrub. These animals are a challenge to
stalk and hunt.
Chital Stag hunts are on a private station to the west of Townsville,
and a large property in South Australia. Accommodations are excellent
and the trophy quality exceptional. Several top ten trophies, including
the new World No 1, have been obtained in Australia. Also, a must hunt
for the serious trophy hunter.

Hog Deer and Sambar
Hog Deer and Sambar Deer hunts take place in Victoria. Both are
extremely wily and cunning animals to hunt. Hunters can be pleased with
their efforts if successful. Accommodation is cabin and tent camp, and
each species requires 5 - 7 days hunting to be sure of gaining a great
trophy.
Sambar Stag are large deer and difficult to describe. At times they can
be very stupid and on other occasions, very clever. However, we have
excellent hunting opportunities for this species with either rifle or
bow. Best time to hunt is April through September.
Hog Deer are secretive little deer hunted during April. Their home is
swampy scrublands, making them very difficult to hunt. Expect to be
sitting quiet in one spot for long periods. One of the hardest trophies
to obtain in the South Pacific.

Red Stag
Australia has, for many years, lacked quality free ranging red stags.
However, this has changed, and better trophies are now being taken. On
average, they are probably better than in some New Zealand areas,
although New Zealand stags, in general, have more mass. This is due to
the quality and amount of feed available to them. Australia suffers from
drought on an annual basis and this impacts on antler growth.
Trophies are the traditional 12 to 14 points with up to 38' in length.
